this book is fantastic, my and husband and I found out very quickly that controlled crying was not an option with our 8 month old baby as she would simply vomit 2 or 3 times if we left her to 'cry it out', and for me, personally c/crying is not fair on a small baby who's only means of communication if she is upset, terrified or in pain is crying. This book helps you to teach your baby to sleep peacefully without crying and really does work!! it is a gentle approach which does require some patience (but belive me it IS definately worth it) and my daughter now goes down at night in her cot awake and puts herself to sleep!! this only took a matter of days! i only wish i had had this book right from the start and will be using the 0-3 month old ... I was despairing of the sleep issues that my daughter was suffering from but also down-hearted by all the professional literature that advocated letting your child cry at bedtime or naptime. So I thought to myself there must be a book out there that focuses on helping your child sleep without crying being part of the process. And then I found Elizabeth Pantley's books which even had 'no-cry' in the title which was very encouraging. The fantastic thing about these books (including 'The No-cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and Pre-schoolers') is that Pantley offers you a whole range of solutions and you choose the one/ones best suited to you and your child. It was interesting to learn the basics of how babies sleep, including their sleep cycles ... Read More:

The energy of the book is relaxing. The author is showing us how calmness, patience, and careful observation can help our babies relax to sleep. It seems much better than other sleep books. There does seem to be come lack of concrete advice, but some mother's might find gems that will help. Basically the book shows you how to take care of your baby and be mindful of their sleep habits. We noticed with our baby, if the lights are on at night, she thinks it is day time and it can alter her sleep pattern. Babies are very sensitive to lights.
Review is by Ramiel Nagel author of Healing Our Children: Because Your New Baby Matters! Sacred Wisdom for Preconception, Pregnancy, Birth and Parenting (ages 0-6) & Cure Tooth Decay: Heal ... Read More:

This book is really not what it's cracked up to be. The title is completely misleading as it does not provide any solutions. I bought it when I read some of the reviews recommending it as a must have and I really would love to know what possessed people to think it was of any use. The author provides no definative advice and says things like 'if you think you can't do it just give up' (the problems here are that she does not provide you with anything to give up on as she tells you nothing....) and this is not what a parent in dire straits (hence buying her book in the first place) needs to here. Really I cannot put too fine a point on it...you really can live WITHOUT this book.

I found this book extremely useful. I thought I was a "routine person", and based on my first child's behaviour, thought every baby-related problem could be solved with a pithy abbreviation and some steely resolve.
Not so with my second child!! First time round I was a devotee of the Baby Whisperer. This time round, E.A.S.Y. was not a word I would have associated with our lives.....
Firstly she cried alot more than I ever remember my son crying.Secondly she seemd a lot more "clingy" that he did. (Seems daft to describe a baby as clingy when their main job is to stay close to their mummies). Thirdly, I was completely frazzled and unable to cope with the noise, disruption and downright cheek - how dare she not comply ... Read More:
