 Rating:  - Certainly Cool Gardens.Whether you like System Of A Down or not, there is no denying that Serj Tankian is an artistic genious. Once again he has impressed many with this beautiful collection of powerful poetry expressing thoughts and feelings towards many subjects. Each poem flows perfectly and oozes meaning, with images that convey the content and add to the overall beauty of the book. The choice of words in the poems also leaves the reader able to interpret them how they would personally like, which creates your own personal involvement in the book. Rating: - Cool GardenA great collection of poetry from the lead singer of SOAD. If you're used to their lyrics you know what to expect. Some poems are more coherent than others, and others, although hard to gain meaning from, are a beautiful collection of words that seem to flow and sit together perfectly and are a joy to read. The accompanying artwork is outstanding, and as noted elsewhere by reviewers, best suited for an adult audience. Never the less the art really adds to the poetry and overall package. A beautifully produced book with some stunning poetry and philosophy. Rating:  - Poetry from the SOAD Metal KingThis book was recommened to me for the art work rather than the poetry, but I figured I may as well read it at the same time. What I found was a somewhat disturbing and twisted look into the mind of Serj, with some of the poetry being quite explicit (This one is not for kids). The words themself, like the songs of SOAD, consisted of a reflection of societies and people's wrongs. A portrayal of what we do to ourselves and the control others try to hold over us. Worth reading, just leave the lights on when you look at the pictures. Rating: - SOAD Fans Will Love ThisIf you like System of a Down and get their music or if you just like to cogitate on life and its meaning, you will love this. This book has some powerful and brutal truths about many and varied subjects, all put together beautifully by the intelligent and eloquent wordsmith that is Serj Tankian. If you read this late at night, I recommend you sleep with one eye open as the pictures although cool are slightly creepy. Rating: - Serj. a genius?Serj Tankian is for sure a man with a message. He brings a very strong message about social issues. And the ones who have listened to his lyrics in System of a down must understand that this is a man of intellegence. This poetry collection is a real good read for anyone who wants to take a deeper look in Tankian's head. Highly reccomended |
