 Rating: - The Human Whose Name is Written in this Note Shall Die.Prior to watching the anime of Death Note, I knew very little of manga or anime. I'd seen Chobits, however, and I thought that was brilliant. But that was before I turned to Death Note. It is the story of 17 year-old Light Yagami, who's future is dedicated to the creation of a 'New World' from the moment he picks up a notebook claiming its powers in a list of instructions on the inside cover. From the first episode, I was transfixed, and since then, I couldn't stop watching. I got so into it I even took the time of learning the lyrics to the 1st opening theme 'The World' and now I can sing it in Japanese! I reached the end of the episodes and decided to give the manga a go. Incredibly, the manga is just as good, if not better, than the anime. ... Read More: Rating: - WOW!!I was shocked when I read this manga...I enjoyed it so much! The storyline is detailed and intreging, while at the same time not confusing; bits are added at different times so as to not confuse anyone. Furthermore, not only is the storyline great but the animation is good also. Rating: - Who is justice?Death Note is a best selling manga set in our world a world where crime roams free and one man wants that gone.... well more like he wants it dead. He will do anything to do just that. Now I wont go into the story much as its been said so meny times there is no point.But what I will say that it is fantastic with a plot and cast that will suck you right in. The fact that it has a hit anime series now two movies and a spin off film says something. I've always liked the art style in American comics so was interested to see what manga was like. Well I've been hearing loads about Death Note recently (and I've ordered the first volume of the anime), so thought for my first manga to give it a try. IT'S BRILLIANT!!! The artwork is great, and some panels really stand out thanks to some stunning detail. This first volume introduces some of the main charcaters and the overall plot, as well as the vast power of the Death Note.
