I give this CD a five-star rating for the experience, but not for authenticity of sound, for, as already remarked by another reviewer, the singing bowl sounds have been electronically processed, particularly to produce a great emphasis on a long-lasting reverb effect. It's not that this is wrong or bad, but it isn't the fully natural and authentic singing bowl sounds that you might reasonably expect from reading the CD's labelling and insert.
So, if you want specifically fully authentic, unprocessed singing bowl sounds (which do have real advantages) this CD would disappoint, and I would particularly recommend instead the CDs of Frank Perry's singing bowls music. As a healer, I am always looking for background sounds/music to add to a healing rather than the piano/synthesised CDs that seem to be available everywhere. This is beautiful. It is not the longest CD, but all that means is you put the player on repeat. (Try Nada Himalaya 2 for almost 1h 20m of similar sounds, if you don't want to repeat.) It does, however, transport anyone listening to a state of total relaxation. It seems to deepen healings and bring absolute peace and Light. If you use music for healing, practise meditation or yoga, or simply need to unwind after a hard day then this is highly recommended.

As a bodyworker and Reiki practitioner I'm constantly looking for music to use in sessions with clients who prefer music to silence. Unfortunately most of the music which sells itself as being ideal for this purpose is stuff which I wouldn't want within a million miles of my treatment room, or to ever hear as a client myself!
A lot of Reiki/meditation/massage music sounds suspiciously 'ambient' and could equally well be heard in the supermarket lulling you into buying soap powder.
Nada Himalaya is SO different.
No twiddly plinky plonky plashy sounds variously meant to represent rain, angels, flowers blooming etc etc. No defined rhythm to force a massage practitioner into, against the right rhythm for that client ... Read More:

This is one of my favorite meditation and relaxation cd's. I use it several times a week and I find that it deepens and relaxes my state of mind very quickly. Creates a great meditative and contemplative atmosphere, especially in combination whith some tibetan healing or ritual incence..
