 Rating: - Superb Introduction to TaikoThis is a great recording. Do not be put off by the opening; anyone expecting a full on blast of noise will be let down but this is all part of the Kodo sonic experience. Full volume Ubernoise is fine up to a point but to give a recording depth a contrast of volumes is needed and this is where this album comes into it's own. The singing is sublime and improves with each sitting as the listener begins to anticipate the players. The beauty of the record is in it's consistancy. I think that the only weak track is Monochrome. This is a highly technical piece that is difficult to grasp and I feel that the sheer listening pleasure of the drummers is sacrificed here for technical playing, though only to a limited extent.
