Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: Bill Hicks was crass, obstreperous and undeniably offensive. He was also one of the funniest comedians ever, in the malicious tradition of George Carlin and Lenny Bruce, hiding social commentary in the bluster of stand-up comedy. Rant in E-Minor is probably the best introduction to his work, containing his opinions on such tame subjects as abortion, gays in the military and right-wing American pundit Rush Limbaugh. Agree with him or not--and you'd be hard put to find anyone who agrees with everything Hicks had to say--it's devilishly clever stuff; even the dated material is still funny and fresh. Hicks was a twisted genius of the highest order, and he's sorely missed. --Genevieve Williams

Buy this and you will convulse laughing, jaw hanging open at what you've just heard. Comedy so sharp it burns through the skulls of lesser comedians.

This album shows Bill at his funniest and at his most angry. I love it that he can make you laugh and open your eyes wide to the irony in life at the same time. His political jokes are sharp and witty and his life observations are not only true, but hilarious. This is an excellent starting place to Bills material and once you've heard it you'll be hooked. A genius artist. Not one to share with your mum, but one to share with all your friends, family and colleagues and as many people as possible!!! Brilliant.

I never usually write reviews but I was listening to this last night and I think that Bill Hicks deserves to be paid respect. I'm not being arrogant about my own understanding but I don't think that many people fully comprehend what Bill was trying to say otherwise we'd all be walking around with our mouths hanging open in disbelief or possibly i'm just learning things for the first time that other people already know but either way what Bill Hicks has to say is quite frankly enlightening with a few good dick jokes along the way ;. To conclude Bill Hicks was brave, honest and a genuis and if you have not yet discoverd him I advise ANYONE and EVERYONE to listen to him

As the shadowed figure stepped on stage, cigarette in hand, and an arsenal of savage jokes directed at everyone from pro-lifers to the pope, you know that this figure is on a mission. Yet that mission came to an end 11 years ago. So here it is, Bill Hicks at his best. With hilarious antidotes on the Easter (I've read the bible, I can't find the words "chocolate" or "bunny" anywhere in that f***ing book), childbirth (any man who says he wants children is no longer a man but a pussywhipped freak of nature) and politics (this is politics in America; "I like the puppet on the left," "I think the puppet on the right is more to my liking," "Hey, wait! There's one guy holding up both puppets!"). Anyone who likes stand up comedy should own this ... Read More:

Just magnificent. Laugh? I almost spe-it!
God, I miss Bill, but his head would probably have exploded with all of the fevered egos out there now and I don't think a white straitjacket in a room with no corners would have suited him, so maybe it's better that he is at peace.
Rant is not for the sensitive souls out there, but just listening to the rhythm of Hicks' language gets me going still.
A1, 10 out of 10, gold stars all the way - a must for anyone who is curious about Bill
