 Rating: - A good choice for classical devotees and brass loversThough above all a lover of classical music I bought this disc because it features Elgar and Rubbra, two of my favourite composers. I did not quite know what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised with what I found. The Severn Suite, in its original arrangement for brass band, is an excellent addition to my Elgar collection. The suite sounds superb in this arrangement and compares very well with the full orchestral version. Likewise the Rubbra piece is well worth hearing and shows a different side of the composer. I did not know the three other composers, but in each case I was impressed by well-written, satisfying music. Repeated listening to the disc only increased my enjoyment and admiration of the music.
