 Rating: - great music by the best military band What can you say, brilliant, perfect the Royal Marines at their best the music says it all. This is what the Royal marines are famous for. Jim mason is in the directors spot for this one , this combination makes it an unmissable cd. Rating: - You can beat time but you can't beat Alford!I was hooked on this disc even before I heard it. As a lover of military music, the bands of the Royal Marines and those Alford marches which I already knew, it had to be bought. I've certainly not been disappointed with what I heard. The quality of the playing is all one could expect, the sleeve notes are brief, but informative, and led me to read Alford's biography with great interest, and any product of Brian Culverhouse and Chandos is guaranteed to be worth the purchase price - and if you don't know the Lightning Switch and the Musical Switch you're in for a rare treat. |
