 Rating: - It's In The Way That You Listen To ItClapton maintains a consistency with August. Better than Journeyman..much better when you listen to Behind the Mask and Walk Away. Whilst writing these reviews, I've just realized that I'm lucky to listen to such memorable tunes; the titles of which I cannot think of in other situations. Another song reaches Divine Heights 'Holy Mother'. Never knew Clapton had such a range. A Gem definitely albeit a bit flawed. Rating: - Great stuff, including one of the best songs ever!This is a brilliant album. The reason i say this, is largely due to one song, Behind The Mask, one of Clapton's greatest in my opinion, if not the best! The other songs are also pretty cool, and as time goes you will begin to listen to it more frequently and enjoy it more. This isn't his best album by any means, but it is definitely worth the money you pay, if only to experience the mastery of Behind The Mask! Rating:  - This album gets better the more you listen to it.i was not bothered either way by clapton before i brought a second hand copy of "August" to play in my walkman on the way to work.i had only brought it as it contained the song "Behind the mask" however having listened to it for nearly a week every day! i must say i am now hooked and plan to try some of his other albums. Rating:  - A worthwhile album from Eric ClaptonThis is a worthwhile album from Eric Clapton with some excellent tracks including the duet with Tina Turner 'Tearing Us Apart' and a fairly decent version of Robert Cray's 'Bad Influence'. One of my favourite tracks on this album is 'Miss You' which is superb and once more confirms EC's great vocals as well as some excellent guitar work. 'Holy Mother', 'Behind The Mask', and 'Grand Illusion' certainly help to make this an album worth buying. Personally I have come to enjoy this album the more I listen to it, and I'm glad to have it in my collection. If I could I would give this album a three and a half star rating. Rating: - fantastic clapton on an late eighties early ninties themeIf you like clapton and remember miami vice you will love this album. the first track is featured in the film the colour of money as was a lot of music from this era but with clapton you know it is going to be well worth listening too. The rest of the album just gets better and better, with a guest vocalist of tina turner on one track and a host of different themes to the music this album is enjoyable whatever mood your in. Wether your in the car or at home on a sunday afternoon or just got back from a late night out slide the cd in and enjoy. |
