 Rating: - Ultraviolence that Alex would be proud of.This album encapsulates such a wide number of musical genres and concepts while focussing on one theme (sin) in particular. The effect is that while your creative side is transported to all sorts of soundscapes, your analytical mind is constantly mulling over the main theme. This CD can be put on simply as background music, for which it would be fine, but its true strengths are only revealed through proper listening, preferably through a good pair of headphones. For me the highlight would have to be "Gerald and Me", the eclectic hidden track at the end. However, the whole of this album stands up to repeated listening. Well done Mr Almond! |
