 Rating: - Saxon Rule OKManaged to get this fantastic album from Saxon remastered EMI Japan paid through the nose but for the quality of sound it was well worth it.This album is one of the best Saxon albums available and I would urge you to get a copy of Denim and Leather turn up loud and listen to some great quality music.I have a good collection of Saxon albums right up to the latest offering the Inner Sanctum and there all fantastic but I hold a special place in my collection for this superb album,every track rocks and all I can say is thank goodness Saxon are still going and making quality albums.Hope review is of help. Rating: - The final great Saxon album - what a belter !!This is a fantastic Saxon record (which also serves to highlight the disappointing efforts that followed). The preceeding "Strong Arm" & "Wheels Of Steel" albums along with this record, form a trilogy of NWOBHM classics. The opening track "Princess Of The Night" gets the mood set before we crash into the defiant "Never Surrender" & the lusty "Out Of Control". There is the "hit" single "And The Bands Played On" (about the Monsters Of Rock festival if memory serves) & finished off with the anthemic, concert sing along "Denim & Leather" (that song meant alot to alienated young rock fans at the time, as I recall). Their last really decent record & it's a classic ! Rating: - It was you that set the spirit free...Iconic NWOBHM album. I feel pride and tears well up inside me when I listen to the title track and remember the days of wearing the uniform that ironically set us free. Put it on, turn it up and feel the burn up the back of your neck. Rating: - Still good todayI first bought this album almost thirty years ago but have only recently treated myself to the cd. I love new music, buying 4-5 albums a week so it is unusual for me to revisit past albums. The reason I did was because I was given a USB turntable and started to copy my old albums. The reproduction was disappointing but this album was not. Tracks Princess of the Night are still wonderful and Denim and Leather must remind most of us how we were. Great light metal album, if you have not heard, it buy it. Rating:  - Denim passionBrought up partly on 1970s rock, I've taken some convincing about Saxon's generation of rock bands. I had 'Wheels Of Steel' on vinyl and, despite its energy, it's clear that Saxon lack the class of their earlier peers. Even so, what they lack in finesse, they make up for partly in energy and 'Denim And Leather' is certainly a major improvement. Curiously, it seems to improve as it proceeds, the opposite of what you usually expect. The first two tracks, apparently singles, are both pretty good without being out of the ordinary, but it isn't until 'Rough And Ready' that the band begin to show their teeth.
