Well my answer to this is a big YES! Having owned all the newer albums I decided to delve into the older stuff they did and wow am I glad I did. Ok it doesnt quite come up to scratch with New Adventures in Hi-Fi that quirky sound and beautiful shiny finish, but this is where REM first started they sound great and its the sort of music you put in your car stereo and you just sing your heart out. Tracks like the cover King of the Road and of course So Central Rain along with the absolute classic Its the end of the world as we know it and the one I love. Ok so most of the others many will not know by looking but it soon becomes apparent how many REM song you actually know.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Twenty great tracks of massive variety
A fantastic selection of REM's earlier work - perfect for an introduction to the band, or as a supplement to an REM lover's collection. Not only does this CD contain old favourites, but it also introduces alternative versions of tracks from other albums.

Highlights of the CD include '(Don't go back to) Rockville', 'Wendell Gee', 'Radio Free Europe' (REM's first track) and 'It's the end of the World as we know it (and I feel fine)'.

I really enjoy this CD every time I listen to it, as the mixture of tracks is so diverse and all of them are of the variety that one can listen to again and again without getting bored.
