Considering this CD has been available for some 12 years at this point (clearly a big seller), and considering that "Greatest Hits" CDs are rightfully based on chart positions, what could make this one better?
Howzabout including fan favourites such as "Walk In My Shoes", "Heart First", "Always Doesn't Mean Forever", and the exquisite "E.S.P. (Extra Sensual Persuasion)". EMI would do well to update Ms. Dean's powerhouse vocal back-catalogue at this point. We fans would lap it up, and both EMI and Ms. Dean (who receives royalties, I believe) would all be very happy. Those marketing executives/bozos at EMI have clearly missed the mark on this one, possibly because they were in nappies at the time the "greatest" hit the charts, ... Read More:

Hazell Dean emerged as a big name on the British pop music scene in the eighties after several years of paying her dues. During those years, she started by performing a lot of of pop and soul music, her first major gig being as opening act for the New Seekers back in 1976. Hazell (who added the extra l to her name because a numerologist suggested that it would be lucky) later switched to dance music and built a strong reputation on the British club circuit before she finally had her first major hit in 1984.
Hazell's first minor hit came early in 1984, with the double A-side of Evergreen / Jealous love. Evergreen is a cover of Barbra Streisand's famous song, but given the rhythmic dance beat treatment that was to become Hazell's ... Read More:

I love Hazell, so really the most important thing I can tell you is that you must have this CD if you are any kind of fan of 80's high energy dance music. Hazell had a string of hits through the 80's and into the 90's with some of the best remixes being included in this collection. Some of these tracks, like "Searchin' (I Gotta Find a Man)" and "Whatever I Do (Wherever I Go)" are dance club legends, as nearly all of these are. This CD is absolutely the very best work of Hazell Dean to date with tracks previously unavailable on CD before. If you don't have this CD in your collection, then you need to get this great CD now.

This album truely does pick out the best songs from Hazell's 80's hits, and balances them appropriately with some slightly slower songs. It does with highlighting the richness of her big chart hits rather than diluting it. The album suits anyone who has heard a small amount of her material and is thirsty for more, as it has moods ranging from Evergreen's passion to a couple of tasteful remixes towards the end. The one thing that lets this album down is the cut down version of searching, which would have retained more of it's 80's club attraction in a longer incarnation. All in all though, this is a CD that you won't find yourself skipping through to find an interesting track.
