Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Alice's masterpiece
This album is a tour de force from start to finish and includes some fantastic tracks such as The Quiet Room, Nurse Rozetta and How You Gonna See Me Now. Before I bought this I thought there was no way that Welcome to My Nightmare could be surpassed. It's a close run thing, but From The Inside is even better. When I listened to this for the first time my initial reaction was "wow". It really is that good. Very highly recommended - it's an absolute masterpiece!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Best Mental Hospital Concept Album You Can Buy!!
When I bought this album, this was my second Alice Cooper Album, (The first being Dragontown) so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I'd heard "How You Gonna See Me Now" and "From The Inside" on Mascara & Monsters; The Best Of Alice Cooper, and they were two of my favourites. This probally was the main driving force behind me buying this album. I am very glad that I did because it is one of my favourite CDs that I own (plus its reasonably cheap for a CD - so you get outstanding value for money).
Heres just a brief backround on the circumstances behind the writing of this album. In the late 70s Alice had an alcohol adiction and admitted himself into a mental hospital to try and beat the addiction. Upon leaving he wrote this masterpiece ... Read More:

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Twisted Evil, But Loses Pace by the End
In the mid 1970s, alcohol was to Alice Cooper what drugs were to Aerosmith and women were to KISS. His ever-growing adiction led to him voluntarily commiting himself to a mental asylum. The initial result was to clean up his life. The end result was a great album. All the songs are based on people he met there, experiences he had and his life in and outside afterwards.

The standout tracks are Quiet Room and Millie and Billie. The Quiet Room will resonate strongly with anyone who has ever been misunderstood but Millie and Billie will chill your blood. Recorded as a beautiful love song as a duet (with Alice playing Billie) the song suddenly gets creepy and it's only then that you start to listen to the lyrics. Going back and listening ... Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - The Quiet Asylum
Friends of mine who heard this album became obsessed with it, this is Alice's most musical album. The Coop has almost fulfilled two ambitions here, to chronicle his battle with the booze and to record an album of ballads which he comes close to doing here.
There are sprinklings of 18 carat rock,"Serious" sizzles along but the basic approach is via lyrical melodies. Alice does capture a clinical atmostphere on the album and the haunting "Jacknife Johnny" is memorable. Balladeering was the theme of SO much of Alice's music in the late seventies and he saves the obligatory Andy Williams impersonation for "How You Gonna See Me Now".Too tasteful really for a classic Alice album, From The Inside is a close to the bone affair with the black eyed monster kept ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A great concept album
Yes, this is a really good album. It has everything from driving rock to moving ballads.

The title track is very well worked with some excellent piano work. The ballads such as The Quiet Room, Millie and Billie and How you Gonna see me now are all classics. Jackknife Johnny is also a moving song. Alice is really on form vocals - wise on this album to.

Lyrically the album is right up there with his best. This is an album that anyone could enjoy whether a fan or not
