Editorial Review:
From Amazon.com: New material that comes without an asterisk hasn't been heard from Robert Plant and Jimmy Page working together since the legendary Led Zeppelin's In Through the Out Door in 1979. Upon first listening, Walking into Clarksdale sounds like a distinctly unnecessary reunion. They sound a bit depleted and maybe even weary, without the swagger and youth that drove Zeppelin's mammoth sound, despite producer Steve Albini's typically midrangy sonic window-dressing. Then you start to hear the dialogue that has always been there between the two, like in the delicate guitar and lilting vocal phrasings that open "When I Was a Child." They keep throwing unexpected creative touches at you with instrumentation ("Upon a Golden Horse") and structure ("Please Read the Letter"). Finally, one comes to the conclusion that Led Zeppelin has not re-formed, that no ghostly apparitions linger in the shadows, and that this is just two very talented old friends making music again. --Matthew Cooke

After the brilliant "No Quarter", Page and Plant joined together again to make a real masterpiece. The songs are powerful, "Most High" is my favorite, but "When the World was young" or "Blue Train" are among the best too. A very good effort that shows that old-rock legends still live and survive among so many trash music out there. Very creative music, a must for Page/Plant fans.
