 Rating:  - Wrong track listing!The only thing I will say about this CD is that the 2007 version only has 16 tracks on each CD, rather than the 19 tracks on the original 2000 edition. Otherwise still agreat CD!! Rating: - The first of a great trilogy of easy-listening compilationsThis compilation of classic easy-listening music from the fifties and sixties sold so well that two sequels were released (More music to watch girls by, Music to watch girls by volume 3). This type of music has a significant fan base in Britain as the more recent series of compilations (Memories are made of this) confirms. This collection features three songs by Vic Damone (On the street where you live, Almost like being in love, It had to be you) and two each by Andy Williams (Music to watch girls by, Can't take my eyes off you), Petula Clark (Don't sleep in the subway, Downtown), Doris Day (Perhaps perhaps perhaps, Move over darling) and Nancy Sinatra (These boots are made for walking, Sugar town). We hardly listened to any other music all week. It's got such pick-me-up beats and very catchy words! I brought it back to France and it caught on quickly with friends - singing along (beaming with joy!) while driving past curious cows in the country or even just sitting around with a nice glass of rosé in a city apartment. Wherever you listen to it, it really does work!! Hey Mambo! Rating: - Happy hip songs from the sixtiesI grew up with music like this. Fabulous, happy music which takes you out of yourself. I also bought the second CD "More Music to Watch Girls By" and hope they'll bring out a third album. How about including 'The Girl from Ipanema" by Astid Gilberto and "High Hopes" by Frank Sinatra. I can't get enough of this wonderful album! Rating: - Magnificent!When I bought this I was bewildered by the magesty of the music. I was overjoyed with this purchase and I havent put down my pipe or taken of my slippers yet. Every song sends me into a state of extreme physical pleasure! Buy this, put on your cardigan and sit back in your arm chair! |
