Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: A romantic's collection if ever there was one, this cachet of songs graced the equally heart-tugging film. King of the Croon and Swoon, Nat King Cole's "Stardust" is probably the most obvious of the young lovers' themes here. Louis Armstrong and Jimmy Durante, ordinarily not the most romantic of sorts, prove themselves worthy contenders with "A Kiss to Build a Dream On" and "As Time Goes By", respectively. "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning" gets an elegantly simple treatment from Carly Simon, and Tammy Wynette's "Stand by Your Man" confirms her status as the late, great Queen of Country. The only disappointments with this collection are the absence of heart-wrenching numbers by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, or even Johnny Mathis; and the inclusion of the horrendous rendition of "When I Fall in Love" by the over-rated Celine Dion with Clive Griffin. --Steve Gdula

I was about 15 when I wrote that so apologies are due as I seemed to be lacking in brain cells at that time although I stand by my statement that it's definetely worth dipping into your pockets for, whenever I'm bored of my other cds I put this back in the cd player and become content. The timelessness of most of these classics makes it a joy to listen to among my favourites is nat king coles stardust perfection. I'm also a sucker for joe cockers - bye bye blackbird. 'In the wee small hours of the morning' i do find to be somewhat tiresome and grating at times so possibly skip over that the odd times but other than that it's close to perfection. A fantastic soundtrack to accompany a personal fav film of mine.

I am a big fan of 'Sleepless in Seattle' (I am a sucker for romantic comedies with happy endings!) and I love this soundtrack simply because, like the film, it will not date. There is something classic about the tunes - they belong to any era, and this reflects the film, which has no features which distinguish it from being last year, this year or next year. This is a soundtrack which reminds me of lazy Sunday afternoons spent reading the papers on the sofa; it's comfortable and uplifting and a welcome addition to anyone's music collection.

Because I am at heart a rank sentimentalist, Epic Soundtrax's "Sleepless in Seattle" should have been more enjoyable, or at least a bit more emotionally charged, but this Nora Ephron-Marc Shaiman produced album was more of a hit-and-miss affair at best. Yes, I like some of it, but in the end I found myself wishing I'd bought something nicer.
Unlike the similarly-themed "Music from the Motion Picture When Harry Met Sally..." there is no single artist who carries the 12-song album. Not having seen the entire film -- despite its frequent airings around Valentine's Day -- I can't say for certain if the same artists featured here (Jimmy Durante, Louis Armstrong, Tammy Wynette and Gene Autry, just to name a few) are heard in the movie's ... Well not just bath music but it sure goes well with a few candles and a couple of magazines in a bubble bath, but it's great just for chillin out or in the car (not that I drive.) It's really easy listening and tells the story of the film brilliantly. Well worth dipping into your pockets for!!!!!!!!

I will not go down the play list, as you already know the songs and artists. You already know that as you hear songs, certain memories come back to you. The exceptional thing is that are no ringers on the CD they are all excellent and by known artists. The combination makes for good listening and also helps remember the movie. You will never tire of hearing these songs. They can make a great valentine's gift any time of the year.
