I've been listening to Slayer again since they released their new CD "Christ illusion" which is a good album. However I have to conclude that this is their best. I have all the albums since Reign in Blood and like them all, but each this one is the best.

'South of Heaven' was a good follow up to 'Reign in Blood', but this is something different - 'Seasons in the Abyss' is in a class of its own in terms of thrash metal. 'War ensemble' opens the album with those shredding heavy guitars. Then there's 'Sirit in Black' and 'Temptation' (my personal favurites) which both have great rythm guitar sections and amazing solos. The title track has to be mentioned aswell with its strangely catchy chorus. Every song is very good on this album and is heavy and fast. Reign In Blood, Diabolus In Musica, Show No Mercy, these albums are the best Slayer can offer, but..even under the shadow of these giants this album still manages to reign supreme, from the brutal speed of war ensemble, the chilling dead skin mask, the very cool expendable youth right through to the masterpiece of the title track this album is infallable, if you like slayer buy it, if you like metal buy it, if you even only have a cd player buy it, there is no excuse.
