 Rating:  - Shadow goes all 80sHmmmm, firstly was expecting much more of this, as Entroducing is superb, and this is nothing like it. Very bland unfortunately. Bizarrely it seems to be very influenced by early police and depeche mode. its easy to imagine andy summers playing guitar, then moving swiftly to Depeche Mode instrumentals. The samples also seem like an afterthought tacked on with no real relevance. Rating:  - THE END[TRODUCING] IS NIGHPICKING THE BONES OF MEDIOCRE RE-MIXES (ANGIE STONE'S BROTHA PART 2) AND PRODUCTIVE MIX SETS WITH J5'S CUT CHEMIST HAS BEEN AN ORDEAL OF THE MOST FAILTHFULL OF JOSH DAVIS aka DJ SHADOW'S DEDCIPLES.WITH ONLY SINGLE DARK DAYS RELEASED TO THE GROWING AND HUNGRY AUDIENCE, THE SHAD'S FUTURE RELEASE THE PRIVATE PRESS HAS BEEN ONE OF MUCH HEATED TALK. His style is generally described as being a part of the all-encompassing 'trip hop' genre, but he is very individual in his work. He would be more accurately described by terms like Abstract Hip Hop and Turntablism (after all Q Bert from the Invisibl Skratch Piklz mixed his first album Endtroducing). You Can't Go Home Again is Shadow's first single since Dark Days in Sept 2000. It's taken from the seriously long awaited Private Press (his first solo album of new music since Endtroducing in 1996).
