Editorial Review:

Amazon.co.uk Review:
Scorpio Rising follows the same approach as Death in Vegas' remarkable predecessor, The Contino Sessions. Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes corral a host of special guests to populate their barbed soundscapes and their knack for finding the perfect environment to bring out the best in their chosen guest is as sure as ever. Liam Gallagher excels himself on the title track, inspired by cult filmmaker Kenneth Anger's celebrated movie, Paul Weller brings just the right measure of disdain to a simmering version of Gene Clark's "So You Say You Lost Your Baby", while Hope Sandoval's sultry tones bring a sensual glow to the storming finale "Help Yourself". Throughout, Indian violinist Doctor Subramanian helps flesh out the eclectic but perfectly tailored backing tracks. Fearless and Holmes display the sort of insight that would be the envy of any record company A&R department. --Gavin Martin

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A great album!
J. Cumiskey said it best when he wrote in his review of this album: "The last song 'Help Yourself' is one of the best songs I have ever heard in my entire life. I won't describe it, just say that you need to hear this song, pure art. This song will make you feel at one with everything with the world and is about as close to an out of body musical experience as you will get."

Help Yourself is now one of my favourite songs of all time! Trivia: it was used in "The Other Final", a wonderful 2003 Johan Kramer film about a soccer game between Bhutan and Montserrat, the two lowest ranked teams in the 2002 FIFA world rankings. This game was played the same day as the World Cup final between Germany and Brazil. It's a fantastic movie (documentary ... Read More:

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Liam Gallagher!!
If there is one reason to buy this album, it is to hear the title track, featuring Liam Gallagher. Unfortunately if you are expecting more of the same, then you may be dissapointed. On the other hand you may be pleasantly surprised by the variety in styles - each of which is well worth listening to. Plus there's the fact that the album cover looks amazing! Try it

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another Good Album by the D.I.V
Quality album, there's bit of everthing on this album, there's some belters which feature the modfather Paul Weller and Liam Gallacher and some chilled out tracks which feature Dot Allison, this album is certinaly worth a listen.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dot Allison
Surely not Dot of One Dove returned from ???

"Girls" is in Lost in Translation and therefore ace.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Does Not Dissapoint
Well in brief, this album is a very clever twist away from Contino Sessions. It features a whole range of new songs, which are all truly excellent in my opinion. The album excels in new ideas and originality. It also features two of the biggest names in the industry Liam Gallagher and Paul Weller and has new up and coming star Dot Allison on it, she has ben gaining great reviews from every1. BUY IT! IT WONT DISSAPOINT!
