Being the strongest competition to the NOW That's What I Call Music! no matter how hard they try, HITS compilation will never beat more than 20 years of NOW!
The CD is a good mix of today's popular hits, but there are a lot of misses and there are songs which was not necessary to put here.
Track Listings Disc: 1 1. Will & Gareth - The Long & Winding Road (No1) The Pop Idols together with a good cover of the Beatles hit. 2. Holly Valance - Down Boy (No2) Holly's follow-up to "Kiss Kiss" is good. 3. Las Ketchup - The Ketchup Song (Asereje) (No1) Great tune. 4. Big Brovaz - Nu Flow (No3) chart debut for Big Brovaz. 5. Liberty X - Got To Have Your Love (No2) Excellent. It's bigger and ... Read More:

I think Hits 54 has got a very good selection of today's chart topping songs. It has a lot of songs that most people are familiar with, which is good. My favourite song is Las Ketchup. the song is great, has a great beat, and it is a very catchy tune. My other favourites are Big Brovaz, Will and Gareth, Blazin Squad and Holly Valance. But there is one perfect chart topping song missing. Nelly and Kelly, of course. I wish that song was on the CD. Also, I prefer buying complilation cd's, because I like a mix of different types of music. Like R and B, Pop, Rock, Rap etc. This cd has a good mixture of different types of music, and I think that is very important in a complilation cd. Cos if you keep having pop song after pop song after pop song ... Read More:

Hits 54 certainly seems to have captured the feel of the British charts, covering the scope from the rocking Kelly Osbourne Papa Don't Preach track, to the insipid Macarena for the 21st century - The Ketchup Song. Unfortunately, it is also full of 'Pop Idol' spinoffs from the hugely hyped Will and Gareth to the up and coming Rosie Ribbons. There are a few great tracks though, like the Big Brovaz song.
It's probably worth buying for the kids, but holding out for Now 53 might be a better plan for Christmas, hopefully avoiding some of the truely dire tracks like H and Claire and grabbing a few more dance floor stonkers. As always, the problem with these CDs is pleasing everyone. Aqualung fans are generally different from Pop Idol or ... Read More:

The latest in the 'Hits' enstallment, trying to compete with the brilliant 'NOW' series, has produced a better effort than its previous offerings, this CD sneakily released before Pepsi Chart 2003, Top of the Pops 2003, and NOW 53, has managed to collect together some good tracks. The CD starts off very strongly with the No.1 hit from Will and Gareth and the top 5 hits from Holly Valance, Las Ketchup, Big Brovaz, Liberty X, Sarah Whatmore and Abs providing a large slice of pop with a scraping of R&B. Unfortunately that seems to be all that Disc One has to offer. Minor hits from 3SL, Angie Stone, and Oakenfold provide light relief in a crowd where songs that have scraped into the top 40 dominate such as Junrgen Vries, Boniface, and Heartless Crew. ...
