 Rating: - Feels like it belongs in a filmMassive Attack were recording and mixing this album in the Bristol studio where I was doing some training at the time. I'd heard of them but never heard their work and was drawn in by the mixture of dance rhythms and ambient melodies that remind me of lullabies. I found it fascinating. I heard that the film had changed names after the album was released but only recently found out its new name (Unleashed). To me, when heard as a complete work, the music has a connected feel which must be because it's a film soundtrack. Or maybe it's simply because I already know it's from a film. Even so, it feels more connected than The Crow, The Matrix or Spiderman 3, as much as I like those too. There's also a personal angle as with anyone with whom you get ... Read More: |
