 Rating:  - Cafe Del Mar Ibiza Vol.12Totally recommended. I have all CDM albums and this compliments the chill out gendre. Great for working to or just as back ground ambience. Both cds hit the mark for sunshine and chilling. I am a veteran from Goa 92, therefore my views maybe considered out of date, but this is one of my favourites. More please. Rating:  - AWFUL!!!!Dont get me wrong! I got all CDM compilations, but this... All the previus compilations by CDM where excellent music. Vol. 11 is very very deep and intense. Vol DOCE, this one, is such a kitch nasty compilation of tracks ideal music for some ugly romantic TV soap-opera. From 24 tracks of 2cd I found 7 that could me put beside all the oldies and goldies prevoius CDM compilations. Its much more excellent cds like Real Ibiza complilation series by Phil Mison as an example: which is great is you live on the coast of Mediterranean like me. hehe. Im very very sad that Bruno didnt made this vol. 12 complilation. The crew of CDM are crazy. How they could put on sale such ugly compilations?????? I hope the vol. 13 will be more the back-to-old CDM compilations. Rating:  - Slipping standards ?One of the above stars is for old times sake. This is really a poor effort following on the heels of the brilliant 25th anniversary Album and easily the worst CDM CD since the dreadful Volume 8. It is a double CD full of wishy/washy songs only one of which was worth transfering to my iPod (Save a little prayer). The afforementioned Volume 8 was followed by my favourite CDM compilation Volume 9 so lets hope history repeats itself next year. C'mon Guys you can do better than this. Rating:  - Cafe Del Mar 12I Thought Cafe del Mar 12 was great. I have got all the Cafe Del Mar Albums and I thought 11 was a little to much like previous Albums. This one has got the real flavour of what Cafe Del Mar used to be like. I suppose if you are a youngster then you may not agree. For me this Album brings back memories of being in Ibiza when it all started at Cafe Del MAR. A real breath of fresh air unlike most of the remixed rehashed dribble of late. Rating: - easy listening at its worstone of the most disappointing albums I've heard in years, the Cafe del Mar gang have really lost it. Having produced some inspired early albums which genuinely captured the Ibiza vibe, this latest offering is a descent into mind-numbing easy listening with lyrics to match ("hands in the sand...face in the sun" or "enjoy your life"). Cost me £28 (extortionate) even at the airport. Maybe that's because of the 3 kilos of melted manchego that is dripping off this cringingly bad effort. Give me REACT's "REAL IBIZA" series over this any day - they're in a different class. My granny's James Last collection conjures up more Ibenican flavas than this random string of tired tunes. Elevator sound technicians - don't waste your time. |
