 Rating: - The Kid rocks!This album was my first Kid Rock purchase, in fact it was the first time I had listened to him. The reason I bought it was he got a mention on the song 'Son of the South' by David Allen Coe. I am a huge fan of southern rock and country rock. To my delight the first track on the album is a rocked up version of this song titled 'Son of Detroit'! The content is a mix of rock and rap. The cover warns of explicit lyrics and means it. Fans of Madonna and Brittney may not be too impressed, although few of them will be reading this review. I enjoyed this whole album, but 2 other songs made it for me. 'Motherf***er Quite Like Me' is semi-autobiographical. He takes a verse from Skynyrd's 'Free Bird' and sings it ... Read More: |
