 Rating: - A great talent with a big future ahead of himAlexi Murdoch first major release is one of the most laid back and accomplished releases around. Most of the songs have been played in different TV series, so you may of already heard from him even if you don't realise. another great songwriter that's up there with the other modern greats like Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice, Thom Yorke, Ray Lamontagne and Willy Mason. Along with Jack Savoretti, Alexi Murdoch should be receiving alot more recognition. Not one bad track on the album. Best songs are All My Days Wait Blue Mind Dream Of Flying Orange Sky Rating: - Stunning!What a brilliant record! Think Bonnie Prince Billy on 'Master and Everyone' meets Nick Drake on 'Pink Moon'. Its that good The comparisons to Nick Drake are obvious due to his precise, rythmic guitar playing style. The production is better than on Drakes material though. This is how Nick Drake could have sounded if they didnt splash high pitched strings over everything. If you like Surfjan, Kings of Convenience, Bonnie Prince Billy, Jack Johnson, Iron & Wine, Scott Matthews etc then you will love this record |
