Editorial Review:

Amazon.co.uk Review:
With "indie" rapidly becoming a by-word for "whinging", it's refreshing to hear an album like The Feeling's debut, Twelve Stops and Home. People who come to this album having only heard the catchy-yet-downbeat single "Sewn" might find the jaunty, upbeat tone of the rest of this album a refreshing surprise. Twelve Stops and Home is pure, summery optimism, with most tracks bouncing along at a happy, head-nodding pace, and packed to the brim with simple, singalong lyrics, including the liberal use of "la-la-la" and "na-na-na". Sure it's lightweight, but that's no bad thing--it cuts like a ray of sunshine right through the knee-hugging depression of contemporaries Coldplay and Keane, with whom the Feeling are sometimes, bizarrely, compared. Instead, Twelve Stops and Home is a pop album straight out of the 1970s, played by young men with guitars and a piano. Which explains why "Fill My Little World" and "I Want You Now" are so cheerful, sounding like Squeeze would have if they sang about puppies. On Twelve Stops and Home, the Feeling may not be out to change the world, but they're happy to make it a bit brighter. --Ted Kord

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Twelve sleeps till Christmas mum!?
Not sure how this ended up in my CD collection....the tunes are ok but my rule of thumb is, if you can sit back and replace the vocalist with Cliff Richard and it sounds plausible then leave it well alone, or alternatively, buy it for ya Mum for Christmas....That's no disrespect to Cliff, he has his well deserved army of 'tenna ladies' to keep the royalties coming in. These chaps however are 40 years younger, they should strive to be a bit more irresponsible!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - worst of the worst
possibly the most irritating bunch of useless dim wits to grace the music scene ever, the songs really are scraping the barrel to the point where it becomes quite offensive. Most of the songs comprise of background music reminisent of the type found on old commodore 64 computer games (only not as good) with that vile singer chanting the same childish lyrics over and over again in that horrible whiney voice.
Unfortunately this is the type of music your average thick moron seems to like these day's.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Will They Last?
The essence of any Brit-Pop band is do they have enough originality to last the distance? It's often easy to produce a stunning first album and then fail to live up to expectations. The first album can well be dominated by songs written over a period of time. The problem can come when new material has to be written.

Having said that there has to be a starting point and The Feeling are a decent southern England band with some catchy choruses and hook lines that have stood them apart from many of their contemporaries. They have the pseudo London feel of a Blur but mix it with decent melodies.

They are one of those bands that you hear in a shopping centre or on the radio and immediately think "that's good who are they? ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Feeling Great
Fed up of tuneless indi pop to slit your wrist to? Then try a life enhancing experience with 12 perfect songs, a great british feel, makes your heart burst with pride and joy, makes you want to run and jump and sing and cheer. Clever, poetic, intelligent lyrics, great tunes, everyone worthy of single release, cocky, romantic, with amazingly assured musicianship.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent.
I bought this album on the strength of reviews here as many of them mentioned Queen and Status Quo, both of whom for me are all time favourites. Well, Twelve Stops... doesn't disappoint. All the things I love about Quo and Queen (guitar rock with a touch of melody) are here. Brilliant!
