 Rating: - ClassicSet phasers to stun and fasten your seatbelts. Psychonauts stand by!!! This is a classic album and I think one of the defining soundtracks of modern club life. A staple survival tool for late night/early dawns. Rating: - Just WONDERFUL Fun !!!!!!!!From the first few moments of "Little Fluffy Clouds" I was hooked. The bonus was that my guitar hero/zero Steve Hillage was involved... I played this a lot in the nineties, my huge "pro" speakers bringing this music to life. I also loved the BBC sessions, particulary the Under Water Deep Space mix of "Backside Of The Moon." Now, both releases are together with the awsome rare tracks too, sounding better than ever. Trust me, you owe it to yourself to have this in your collection. As said by another reviewer, listen LOUD and with your favourite tipple in hand. RECOMMENDED by a VERY happy bunny!!! Rating: - Don't believe the hype - this is better than that!Why anyone consigned the Orb to that dreaful moniker 'chill out', I'll never know. This was AND IS music to dance to if you have an ounce of soul in your body. As a techno head I was blown away when this album came out and can still remember dancing beyond dawn on a Wednesday morning in some North London club (work only minutes away!)to the very tracks that ended up on these discs. As others have said, this beautiful music can still take you to some wonderful places - so give it a listen. Two things.. it should be quite dark and it should be very loud! The remastered verison - unbelievably - is an improvement. Shame they can't capture the laser show on CD! Enjoy. Rating: - Was it so long ago?Like so many before me i got this cd on its original release. Chilling out after all night clubbing and returning to Earth to the sounds of Little Fluffy Clouds on sunday afternoons was a common occurence. Seeing them play live at all nighters at Brixton academy and having the visuals to go along with this stuff was also a part of my memories on hearing this again. Then things changed, the club scene changed and everything associated with clubbing changed and so my Orb collection was more or less put to the back of my collection (and im sure a lot of folks did the same) Until now!. On seeing this re-release the idea of these seminal tracks being cleaned up and sounding new and fresh was something i couldnt resist, and im more than happy ... Read More: Rating: - A Great AlbumI've got the original CD release of this and didn't really know if it would be worth getting this deluxe package. I'm glad I did. The remaster does improve on the original, this type of music does benefit from an improved recording. My favourite Orb album, this also includes the Peel Session track, (one of many bonuses on Disc Three), recommended. |
