Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: In some parallel, '70s-groove-askew universe it's Eagles of Death Metal who are the superstars, not merely the studiously dizzy spin-off of Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and his Palm Desert school chum/lapsed journalist Jesse Hughes. Building forcefully on the charms of their '04 debut, their camaraderie foregoes ego (QOTSA mainstay Homme is EODM's drummer, pal Hughes its falsetto-voiced, ax-slinging rock star) for a retro, ambitiously naïve garage-rock-meets-boogie-down ethos that labors under the delightfully perverse misconception that the New York Dolls, Hot Chocolate and T Rex were all actually the same band - one that Muddy Waters and The Big Bopper occasionally sat in with. Less demented talents have pumped similar shtick full of self-conscious irony; here H&H simply grab it by the neck and shake furiously, yielding "I Gotta Feeling"'s Bolan boogie, the Stones-ish "I Like to Move.." and Dolls-swaggering "Keep Your Head Up," before moving onto such enticing genre demolition derby entries as "Ballad of Queen Bee and Baby Duck," "Chase the Devil" and the giddy "Shasta Beast." --Jerry McCulley

WTF! this is the most shocking and awfull waste of money ever. "Death Metal" yeah right. it's just some nob singing in a high pitched voice about wanting a man hard. this is terrible and awfull. just don't buy it if you appreciate music that has integrity and is well written this is a total joke. At least you could buy queens of the stone age. god, it makes me so angry to think that people might think this is real rock music. GROW UP AND LISTEN TO SOMETHING DECENT!

Firstly, don't listen to the review saying that this is 'joke music'. I think by that he means that this is in the same realm as the south park songs and the hamster dance, and no 'serious music fan' should own it. I count myself as a very serious music fan, but I really like this album. Why? Because its fun! Any band who release an album called 'death by sexy' as it's "a sound so sexy it could probably kill you" are very obviously not taking themselves seriously, and so maybe you shouldn't either. However, it's a great fun album, with so many catchy songs, and i'd reccomend it to pretty much anyone
I'd say this would be a great party album, and is just good when you want a bit of happy dumb fun rock 'n' roll. And whats wrong with ... Read More:

this is total rubbish. I gave it two stars because there are bands out there who are worse.
If you like 'joke music' then this is your thing. You'll be able to show off to all your friends how wacky you are listening to Josh Homme's side project, the humorously named 'Eagles of Death Metal'.
Personally, I hate death metal but not as much as I hate this. At least Death Metal has some integrity. This is just a bunch of idiots selling rehashed 70s nonsense to gullible teenagers who think they're cool because they've discovered a Queens of the Stone Age side band (see other reviews).
No serious music fan really listens to joke music unless it's some sort of tongue in cheek political comment or at least has some sort of depth to it. ... Read More:

So many good songs, a couple a bit wierd sounding, but it all fits with the album , great chilled out atmosphere the whole way through, not a bad riff in there.
My friend said it was an album ' taht could have been written in a day'.
Well im not saying its the most tech album out there, but bands like ealges of... and kings of leon ( not soundalike of course), is theyre music is simple, but its still powerful and well done, they might be simple riffs, but theres still a LOT of thought goes into the songs , and theres some great solos from guitar and bass. And who knew josh homme could play drums so well?
I reccomend anyone buy this, coz even if u dont like the sound of the band, ( theyre not at all death metal - its rock'n'roll!), ... Read More:
