 Rating:  - An Immense AlbumThis album is definitely an album which for me changed Lionel Richie from an immense soul singer into an R'n'B icon. I think he shames some of the latest R'n'B stars and really sets a new target for other people to follow. This album is not just r'n'b there's also some songs that still show his soul roots and even some reggae chucked in. Lionel Richie is definitely one of the best Artists that has ever lived and this album shows it. Rating:  - Sometimes it's hip to be squareThis is almost the opposite of mutton dressed as lamb. Lional Richie is a good, mature singer of songs with good melodies. However, much of this album is spoilt by "modern" trappings. It's a shame, hence only 4 stars instead of 5. Rating: - Get's Better With AgeWow, this is a superb buy. I heard his single release and fell head over heels for it, waited anxiously for the release of the album, I wasn't disappointed. I grew up with my family listening to the likes of the Commodores, Diana Ross etc., or should I say The Legends. As usual Mr Richie takes you places in love that other ballads can't reach. Congratulations Mr Richie, you haven't lost your touch, he is truely a legend and this album proves it - some things do get better with age. Rating:  - should have stayed where he wasLionel richie, the first word that springs to mind is legend. After titles such as Hello, Three times a lady and many more i was really looking forward to playing this album. Having now played it i wish hadn't bothered. The songs leave no mark at all and they have a certain 'cheese' factor about them. Not one song really stands out, a real dissapointment. Don't buy the album it ruins your perception of the legend he was and should be. Sorry Lionel but its for the lack of a better word 'pants'! Rating: - Lionel moving with the times * * * * *My whole family in the late seventies and the early eighties lived with the music of Mr. Lionel Richie.. He was simply a natural artist. We called him "The king of ballads". It was just last week that I went to the store to see if there have been some new albums that have been released. I generally go to these stores to pick some more CD's for my collection which is well over 250 of different artist. To my great surprise I saw an album a new one that had been released by this great man. I asked the musicroom manager to play a few tracks as I was not aware about the new release. With just the second song that he played I said enough and added that to my collection. Believe me this is a truly fantastic album. I say this because he han't been bogged ... Read More: |
