Another quality release from Global Underground! Now comes part 2 of the deep dish partnership. First was Sharam's mix, now comes Dubfire's turn. If a had to choose a winner, i think Dubfire's just edges it.
Dubfire's mix contains some outstanding tracks inc BarBQ, And If, Booka Shade, Samuel L Session and even Dubfire's own excellent 'I Feel Speed'.
A great addition to an already amazing Global Underground series.

Sharam's Dubai was brilliant, and one of the GU highlights to date. I was expecting similar from Dubfire, and these mixes do not disappoint. CD1 seems to be liked by most, and I agree, it's well mixed, the tracks are superb, and well paced, and it closes in real style. Dubfire's own tune - "I feel speed" - is the notable high point for me.
Inexplicably, CD2 is getting panned, yet for me, it's the better of the two mixes. There's no messing around at the beginning - the Nitzer Ebb remix is awesomely dark and powerful and sets the tone for the rest of the mix, which doesn't let up. The Noir and Robbie Riviera tracks work well, and "Die Rumpelkammer" is a class tune and nicely paves the way for the DM remix. Thereafter it's a brilliantly ... Read More:

Having bought the first two Deep Dish mixes on GU I was hoping for more of the same - well picked and mixed tunes. CD1 starts with some smooth and intelligent Deep House tunes; BarBQ "Myself" being the standout tune of the first CD, skip the rest of the songs until you get to tracks 13 - 15 then press play again. Even then the Markus Shultz mix of Du What U Du isn't the best out there....
CD2 is deeply disappointing, again skip the first 11 tracks and listen to the last three. The second CD feels stodgy and repetitive in comparison to the first. In fact throw it away!
For fans of quality EDM, Nick Warren's Shanghai GU28 and Paris GU30 are just in a different league from this.

Firstly, the other reviewers who said that Disc 2 is crap are very very wrong in my opinion. I would even go as far as to say its better than Disc 1, which has a couple of slightly annoying tracks (like Afterlife) that the other disc doesn't. Disc 1 is a bit more house-y and Disc is a bit more Prog Trance-y. Also, If you're a connoisseur of the 303 then you'll love Disc 2, which uses it to great effect.
But on the whole both are brilliant, and better than Sharam's Dubai which is a great mix too, but has a few more forgettable tracks. But maybe I've just over played it.

To enjoy this compilation you first have to throw the second CD away and forget about it. Then just put in CD1 and enjoy. It's a simply stunning mix, nearly as good as CD2 of GU Toronto. It borrows from all the hot producers of the momment and is a joy to behold.
