 Rating:  - So-soAmusing and catchy, moreso than one might expect this far into their career - but there's nothing to keep you coming back beyond a few spins. Rating:  - Like time has stoppedIf you like the Presidents then this album won't disappoint. If you're looking for them to have shown some evidence of having moved forward then this isn't the album for you. Rating: - Okay dependent on your moodI found this album a little samey but is that necessarily a bad thing? If you're in the right mood, it's a great album and one that's easy to listen to from start to finish. It's definitely good for listening to in the car!!! Rating:  - Will never make prime ministerThis is bouncy, catchy American pop, think B52s, Bare Naked Ladies, They Might be Giants, and maybe some early REM. The trouble is that this is the usual American Dorm music; stuff that the kids in the US will happily pop to, but over here in Blighty, we find that stuff all so 90's, and prefer something with a bit more edge. So, four stars because it compares well with its peers, one star off because most of us have moved off from that style... except of course when we're in one of those ropey student nights, on the mainstream dancefloor (the cool kids are in the indie or dance rooms), and they're playing Rock lobster, followed by this... and we're too drunk to care! Rating: - a few good bits in a mediocre albumI didn't find this album all that satisfying to listen to. There are a few good lines accompanied by a really nice dual guitar pieces or two, but the rest of the songs seem to be the same old grungy guitar, slammin drums and 'complaining' singing which was popular in the late 1990's with blink 182. Songs like Ladybug and French Girl are a bit of fun and nice to listen to but Mixed Up SOB as the opening track drives me mad every time the opening guitar comes on. Overall I wouldn't buy this album but if you're into their previous music then give it a go! |
