Editorial Review:
Description: Debut album from hotly-touted young York band who bring their classical training to bear on rock music, producing a bombastic strain of piano-led pop-punk that has seen attention lavished on them by the UK's rock press and drawn comparisons with the likes of Something Corporate, Son Of Dork, Good Charlotte, The Click Five and Cute Is What We Aim For. Produced by Jim Wirt (Hoobastank, Something Corporate), the album contains all four of their top 40 singles including their biggest hit 'Still Figuring Out'.

I first heard 'The White One Is Evil' on a friend's iPod, and was immediately caught by the intense layers of music and the really catchy lyrics; also the sheer energy of the song that made me want to dance to this song that I didn't know the words to.
When I got the CD, I immediately listened to it, and loved every single track. Initially, I had my doubts about 'Lucky Star', but I warmed to the song, after I realised that the lyrics were actually quite decent, and the shift in tempo moved the track forwards.
The orchestra-woven 'Time After Time' is a fabulous introduction, and 'Parallel Worlds' explodes on the listener with all its supernatually good force. You actually feel like you're in the attic room with Ed and ... Read More:

Its a good album. Ever since I heard Parallel worlds I got hooked on them completely. I love the harmonizing and I really just wanna see them in concert now. My best song is Still figuring out and my worst is Jessica.. Its not all that. I dont feel like I threw my money right down the drain. I got the CD yesterday and I have been playing it non stop. Its awesome.

I bought this album after hearing the singles 'Jessica' and 'Parallel worlds'. Both are excellent songs but the question was: could they maintain the quality with the album?
Well yes and no. Some songs on the album are just brilliant. As other reviewers have said Elliott Minor have two major strengths: their can execute great harmonies and they can perform classical pieces. Therefore the songs that utilise this are the best.
'The Broken Minor', 'The White one is evil' and 'Silently' (along with Parallel Worlds) are the best songs on the album because they have the ingredients mentioned above. There is some filler (I didn't like 'Lucky Star' or 'Running Away') but there is so much quality they can be overlooked.

I'm in America, but I love Mcfly very much. Just so happens these lovely chaps toured with them so why not check them out. I first heard the 30 second previews on there myspace and was blown away. This band is like nothing I have ever heard. Guitar solos that are Dragonforce-esque and piano that gets very classical, but still great poppy vocals and a little bit of rock. They fit my music type so much, and I absolutely LOVE them.
My favorites are the singles of course, there single worthy but not overplayed!
My Picks :
-Parallel Worlds-Talking about ghosts, and hauntings. My new theme song :]
-Still figuring It out-opening with lovely solo singing by Ed, and also quite poppy and fun to dance to
-The White one ... Read More:
