 Rating: - The excellence is in the mixingI don't like every song on this album. Infact, I can probably say this for #7 more so than #5 or #6 (I don't own #1-#4). However, I have nothing but admiration for the way Tiesto mixes the songs, as I have mentioned on previos ISoS albums. This is no exception - the choice of songs, and the order on which they appear is just true brilliance, in my opinion. In short, cd01 is more vocal, 'housey,' and could be classed as cheesy, even though using the phrase 'cheesy' is cheesier than any music can be. I don't think it is, there are some good songs here that really do allow you to drift away with the sunshine and the associated connotations of a beach party, etc. Cd02 is very much more progressive and trancey, partiuclarly at ... If you are interested in the diversity that trance music has to offer, I can't think of another collection series that gives you such a broad scope on what is so stereotypically thought of as a boring genre of music. Rating: - Tiesto does it againAnother great album from DJ Tiesto. You'll need to listen to it a couple of times to get into it but once you have you can appreciate what Tiesto has made. Not hard trance but more a great follow on from Search of Sunrise Vol.6 and highly recommended. Rating: - Stellar! I love both CDs!ISOS 5 was widely regarded as the classic - this is way better! Very instrumental, very light on the vocals, which is how I like my trance. CD 1 / CD 2... they're both stunners. The best trance I've heard in a long while. |
