This is a classic. I have been waiting for years for it to come out on CD and have constantly been surprised that it wasn't among the first Free Reed CDs.

This is right up there with Leige and Leif, Hark the Village Wait and Welcome to our Fair, those other jewels of the period.

An eclectic mix of tunes from an eclectic bunch of players that, perhaps, gives an idea of "traditional" entertainment.

Close your eyes and picture a group crammed together around a table, with tubas and trombones with their slides disappearing below the table: take a swig of real ale and just enjoy.
