 Rating:  - beautiful and sadIf you like Perry Blake and David Sylvian (of course) or even late Talk Talk (or Mark Hollis solo), you will love this album. Slow, melancholic, at times even sad, but most of all beautiful. Not lovely, not sweet - pure, raw beauty like raw diamond - you need to make an effort to get inside it to discover all the hidden treasure. But it's worth trying. Samadhisound seems to evolve into must-have label. Rating:  - Wonderful soundSubtle and mellow sound. Check out Jens Lekman and Perry Blake if you like this stuff! Classic sound not driven by mainstream and popularity... Don't hesitate! Great sound. Why not five stars? Something better will appear at some point, maybe from Thomas Feiner. Rating: - Simply the best album of 2008A bold statement, but it is what I think. This album is like no other album I own, it moves me in a way I never thought music could. There isn't a bad track on this, as each day I keep telling myself that a different track is my favourite track. Thomas has a wonderfully rich baratone voice, that works so well with the gentle music. This album will be known as an absolute classic in time. Rating: - Enchanting sadnessThis record stands alone with no comparison of genre and beauty. It is pure, astonishing illness. Rating: - Yup, it's gorgeousLike many I came to this album through David Sylvian's recommendation. And thank you Mr. Sylvian for pointing us in the direction of such wonderful tracks as The Siren Songs, Yonderhead and All That Numbs You. Sure, this album is dark and moody but it's also uplifting and vibrant, in the style of Nick Cave and - dare I say it - Sylvian at his best. If you like your music to be thoughtful, timeless and engaging, this is the stuff for you. If you want something to tap your feet to, sitting on the M25 in your Audi, forget it. Now all I need to do is dissuade my wife from running off with Mr. Feiner (she is rather taken with his chiselled jaw, me thinks). |
