Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: Sun-kissed house grooves are once again the order of the day on Those Things, the second solo album from Bay Area DJ/producer Miguel Migs. In contrast to 2002's Colourful You, however, this go-round has Migs taking his blissed-out beats in a more organic direction by throwing a variety of live instruments into the mix. On the title track, for instance, house queen Lisa Shaw's vocals bounce atop a percolating bassline that juggles multiple synths, rhythmic funk guitar, an overdriven guitar solo, and vocal samples. Other tracks are laced with trumpet, sax, and congas. For the most part, this eclectic approach bears fruit by giving Migs a deeper bag of tricks to use in working his deep house magic: "So Far" and "Mesmerized," which both feature the superb vocals of LT (a.k.a. Aya) have more than enough of that bubbly warmth that put Naked Music on the map, while more novel tunes like "Shake It Up"-–where Brand Nubian's Sadat X tells the tale of a night out with some cliche; but more playfulness-–are unexpectedly beguiling. Migs, widely known for his skills in the studio, has hit a new a high with Those Things, and even dance-music skeptics will find this organic flavor of house difficult to resist. --Brent Kallmer

I've been a Migs fan for some time but this album, for me, is disappointing. There a a couple of tracks which got my head nodding but other than that it's nothing better than average.
When you compare this album to Colorful You (Migs' first artists album) it's like a different producer altogether, even the production techniques seem more advanced and that's a surprise considering it was made in 2002. Those things feels like Migs has almost 'sold out'; very commercial.
I'm sure that others will disagree but after a number of listens in the car, this album will proably never be played by me again.

..mmmm. Being the owner of more than one Miguel Migs CDs, I have to say that this album is more funky than funky house. Tracks 1, 4 and 13 being of the traditional funky house that one has come to love about Miguel Migs. Now I'm not knocking the funky tracks, but it just comes a little alien to me - that's all! Track 4 - "Mesmorised" is the outstanding track for me. Track 9 has a reggae feel (definitely not what I expected from MM!). A good CD but only worth 4 stars. Sorry, Miguel!

this album is simply great.
i first came across mith this fantastic and very much talented guy when i purchased his nude tempo compilation. what an album...wow! shortly after that i was already chasing for other albums that`s how i found coulorful you, his first debut.
this is his second studio album and i must say that since i had this album, it hardly ever left my stereo. it delivers great tunes, wonderful beats and makes you dance all nite long. not only excellent tracks you`ll find on this cd but great cooperation with the best names such as lisa shaw or aya.
the music is very influential, reminds you of the eighties...
i would highly recommend and it`s definitely a must for every true house fan.
keep it going ... Read More:

Miguel Migs, what a talented guy. This C.D. has everything. Snipets of vibes that take you back to soul and motown from 70's/80's, a little bit of jazz, a little bit of blues, hip hop and reggae thrown in as well. I love the guitar jams that appear on some tracks. Plenty of saxaphone as well. My personel favourite tracks are 2, 6 and 11 with the rest only just behind. All round brilliant C.D. for chillin, driving or dancing. Hope to catch him live soon.
