 Rating: - Negative Space - Positive MusicAnother quality slice of post bop from legendary saxophonist Dave Liebman.This live set sees him with an Italian piano trio and they perform three Liebman originals plus a couple of standards.As you would expect from Liebman this is serious post bop jazz pushing and probing at the boundries of form and structure."G.I.G" is probably the most laid back of the five lengthy tracks with Liebman keeping it fairly melodic but progressive."Negative Space" gives his highly expressive soprano sax a workout with a lengthy solo full of intensity and at times freedom."Get me back to the apple" is a very freeish interplay piece with base and drums taking lengthy solos but didn't do much for me(the only down point of the album)."Poinciana" is more straight ...
