 Rating: - Underrated but overwhelmingHaving loved Ron Sexsmith's work from the beginning I was going to buy this record whatever but I approached with some trepidation. Ron continues to be rather underappreciated and even the critical approval has started to wame of late. It's also hard to just keep being great and have something new to say on album number 9. But I needn't have worried. In fact, I think this is the best stuff Ron has done in quite a while. I love the subtle use of horns, the vocals are really strong and the lyrics are so honest and direct you can sometimes miss how well crafted they are. After an instrumental interlude, 'This is How I Know' combines spiritual lyrics with a warm uplifting sound that conveys Ron's conviction even to an agnostic like me. This ...
