I usually write reviews because I have a huge amount to say about whatever I am writing about. I am inspired you might say. This album doesn't need a huge dialogue written about every facet of the production though... It is quite simply an outstanding electro/breaks album, different from their previous work, more mature, more leaning towards the electro tip, but keeping a breaks mentality. It's funky, a bit mental, and is very hard not to enjoy. It's one of my favourite albums of 2008.
I do however have an alterior motive for this review. This album has been awarded 1 star by another reviewer, because it's electro. Not because it's good, bad, or any other shade of grey, just because it's a certain type of music. It's like reviewing ... Read More:

Having purchased Splitloop's previous album, I wasn't sure what to expect, especially with the album cover being very different to the first. When I first listened to the album, I wasn't that surprised to find the album leans more towards the 4/4 beat pattern. As someone else says in this review list, the reason for recognising Splitloop is probably because the Breakfastaz remix of his track "On Both Knees" which was a banger at the time. However, I listened to this album, knowing the difference. And, even though it is quite Electro (which personally I think is quite good, especially with a breakbeat drum line) it took me a couple of listens to appreciate it. Favourite tracks are self titled Pleasure Machine, Release / Remove and Rush.

Ok, I decided to get this album, because I've heard a remix of "On Both Knees", which, funnily enough, was a breaks tune.
This album on the other hand is ELECTRO, not breaks. There's a difference.
The whole point breaks is named "breaks" (short for breakbeat), is because the drum beat is BROKEN. I.e. the drums sound different.
Electro, on the other hand, like House, Techno, Trance, Gabber - et al, all use four-to-the-floor drum beats, and they bore me. So very, very much.
You can have the greatest lead and bassline in the world, if you give it the same backing drums as every other house song ever made, it ruins the awesomeness.
Maybe I'm just being pedantic, I don't know - but ... Read More:
