 Rating:  - Great music, shame about the recordingI bought this album 'on spec' after seeing short review on Allmusic.com The music is great. Absolutely authentic late 60s/early 70s Stax sound. All fine there. However, whether it's the mastering or the recording I'm not sure, but instruments, especially the voice, are distorted, like the VU meters were banging up against their end-stops. Maybe this is intentional, but it makes the record difficult to listen to for extended periods. Great shame. Rating:  - the sound of stax lives on !!Like your yellow stax sound of the 70's ? Booker T & MG's etc ? Just buy it !!! |
