 Rating:  - "READ ALL ABOUT IT!" The 'Paperboy' delivers!WOW! After first catching Eli on Later with Jools Holland where he blew me away with 'Take My Love With You', I bought the album. What a delight! Every track has its own magic. I loved the whole album from the first play and it grew from there. I googled Eli and his True Loves to see if they were playing live. Bingo! Monday December 8th at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, London. I went along with my son who is a soul devotee after being brought up on Sam, Wilson, Marvin and Otis. What a night! The best gig that either of us had attended by a country mile! I defy anyone to sit still whilst listening to the Boston messiah! Rating: - Stax livesLet's not be precious about this album. He has a great voice, plays a mean guitar and has a great backing group. He is not Otis Redding or Wilson Pickett but he has genuinely captured the magical sound of the Stax era. My first ever LP was the Atlantic "This is Soul" compilation and I still consider it to be the best Soul collection ever. However Eli Reed has provided the soundtrack to my driving for the past 2 weeks. Rating: - Funk and stuffy ReviewersIt's quite simple... If you want something you can dance to or tap your foot to, then this is for you! If you want something light hearted, upbeat and funky then this is for you! If you like the upbeat songs from Al Green, Ray Charles, James Brown, and even the Blues Brothers, then this is for you! At under a tenner then it is well worth a buy and a listen to. Some of the tracks such as "Stake Your Claim" and "It's Easier" are among the best on the album and a perfect counter to the miserable British weather. I put on this record with a couple of friends and not a single person left without asking who this guy was, people were dancing and enjoying themselves and all thanks to the great ELI.
