 Rating: - Transcendental violin playingThis is currently my favourite disc.I bought it, knowing what an exceptional musician she is and was not disappointed. The Georgian music which accompanies the concerto is a delightful suite of dances but the Beethoven is a revelation. It is played with freshness and poise and extraordinary tonal beauty. Her playing is so absorbing that I was lost to the world.Her accuracy is incredible but it is the way she makes every phrase sounds new-minted yet as natural as breathing that holds you spellbound. This is a very special disc worth buying even if you already have other performances.There are many gifted violinists performing at the moment but she is far more than that, this is inspired playing. |
