 Rating: - Strange releaseWith so much of Connie's material yet to be released to CD, I cannot imagine what possessed any record company to release this material. The only merit in this album is it does collect together all the material Connie recorded from 1955 until she finally hit the charts with 'Who's Sorry Now' in 1958, and the songs were previously confined to a German box set only. This CD,in my opinion, is strictly for fans only, who want to hear the various styles Connie tried to develop and indeed copy, prior to her success. I suppose it makes a change from the endless hits CD's released over the years,disguised in different covers. Connie reached her vocal peak in the early to mid 60's and the wealth of beautiful material she recorded at that time ... Read More: |
