 Rating: - Retro future sound of psychadelicAmorphous Androgynous, the artists also known as Future Sound Of London, continue to plough their own musical furrow without any apparent concern for considerations of popularity or the demand to have any 'hits'. Long may they continue to do so, as they keep turning out extremely interesting albums at an amazing rate. As the ridiculous title suggests, psychadelic sounds rule the day here, harking back to the tripped-out epics of the 1970s- airy lyrics, heavily effected acoustic guitars, 'positive vibes', even some sitars. Some of the production is a clear tribute going back 30 years, but some of it retains that FSOL cutting edge and the result is a real mesh. Complicated, clever, atmospheric, and at points quite confusing. ... Read More: Rating: - A new Psychedelic voyage for the third earMissed the release date of this, was initially confused by last Amorphous Androgynous release, but then realized what Gary Cobain et al was trying to do was pay his homage to psychedelic music, this however is a greater and more coherent achievement. The songs and concept keep this together. Certainly on the 'Isness' the songs with lyrics were a bit iffy. Here there is more styling and maturity. The instrumentation is more organized, there is inclusion of Linda Lewis who does a nice vocal on one track, there is a fair amount of slide guitar and some all out rock. It is a very varied and complete recording with 18 tracks, all heavily processed full of screaming layers of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' type sounds, swirling about in a miasma of psychedelic ...
