. Scratch the Surfaceby: Sick Of It All Release Date November 14, 1994 Sick Of It All ARE hardcore, they are the sound that every vest wearing tattooed New York-a-be wants to be, period. One of the other reviews mentions that this 'is probably the least accomplised' S.O.I.A album, well, it pre-dates 'Call To Arms' and 'Yours Truly' by the best part of a decade and was the album that re-ignited the N.Y.H.C. sound to it's very best. The title track, 'No Cure' & 'Maladjusted' are bonafide classics, and that's before I even mention 'Step Down'. Yeah, buy 'Call To Arms' (another 5* outing) and 'Yours Truly' (a solid 4*), in fact buy the whole S.O.I.A back catalogue, but this is the album that defined a band and a genre. |
