. Future Is Mediumby: Compulsion Release Date May 28, 1996 Compulsion are ridiculously underrated. They don't even have a website (last time I checked), yet as this record shows, they consistently write catchy and rocking punk songs. Clearly slightly influenced by a combination of Nirvana and the Kinks, their tunes are infectious and their lyrics are witty. They incorporate more ideas per song than probably any modern band that is comparable to them - Weezer for example, who's "Blue" album was a classic in it's own right. "Future is Medium" is better. There are no bad songs on this record, but at least nine songs here are outstanding.
