. The Changelingby: Toyah Release Date February 01, 1999 After tasting the success Toyah had in 1981, many artists would have exploited it by intentionally leaning towards a more commercial market. They would have sacrificed quality song writing for the sake of ensuring the cash flow continues. Toyah's 1982 follow up to the platinum selling album 'Anthem' was anything but a commercial compromise. 'The Changeling' is a very dark album, continuing with occult-ish themes Toyah has drawn from since the beginning. Though a couple of songs sounded as if they could have been singles, only one was taken from the album, which itself is another defiant move. The album opens with the oddball "Creepy room".
