High on the Happy Sideby: Wet Wet Wet Release Date March 24, 1997 'Wet Wet, Wet's' album material has never been very impressive, (re 'Popped In...Souled Out') however, this is a very 'average', but 'nice' and listenable album from them. The best single from this 'Make It Tonight' in fact did the least best in terms of chart placings; reaching only number 37. The big single from this album 'Goodnight Girl' went to number one for a massive six weeks, but it is worth noting that this was when single sales were at an all-time low, and many tunes were reaching much higher chart placings than the same songs would have done just a few years earlier. I suspect the beautiful and inspirational artwork helped sell this CD. |
