. Homemade Ice Creamby: Tony Joe White Release Date October 09, 2000 This is Tony Joe in fine form, featuring several B-sides from his Monument records days. T.J. plays guitar, harp and whomper stomper (don`t ask - listen!) like nobody else can. Standout for me is the first track, "Saturday night in Oak Grove Lousiana" as I drove through there on a recent vacation in the USA and the place is STILL like the words of the song. If you like Southern Rock and you also like funk and have never heard Tony Joe, this album is a great place to start. Now if only he would release "Bubba and the world`s record large-mouth bass...." |
