My vinyl copy of this was worn out from endless playing many years ago so I was very happy to pick up a CD copy of the album. Although the years have passed the music has lost none of it's appeal and once again I am playing it to death! So what sets this apart from Whitesnake's studio recordings? For me it is the incredible intensity and power of the music. Coverdale's voice has always been strong and combined with the rawer guitar sound of the live recording it somehow seems to grow in emotional intensity.
